What is a Finance Broker?

A finance broker is a business or individual that endeavours to bring together people who require funds (borrowers), with those who have money to lend (lenders). Borrowers may require funds for private and / or business purposes; including the purchase and development of property, purchase of equipment, purchase of a principal home or investment property.

Many finance brokers primarily assisting customers to obtain mortgages, and are usually referred to as "mortgage brokers". Other types of finance can be arranged, such as personal loans, lines of credit, Commercial Hire Purchase, lease facilities and business loans. This has resulted in the evolution of the term Finance Broker who assists with all facets of lending.

 

Where do I find more information regarding the Finance Broker Industry?

 

Do I need to have experience in the broking or lending sector to be eligible to enrol in the Diploma of Financial Services (Finance/Mortgage Broking Management)?

No. The Diploma is aimed at both new entrants and experienced brokers.  It is essential however that you gain workplace experience throughout your learning and so you will need to have access to one or more experienced brokers for assistance. If you do not know any brokers, City Pacific Training may be able to assist you with an introduction to a broker in the City Pacific Finance network.
